Job Description


KAUAI BEACH RESORT 4331 Kauai Beach Dr. Lihue, HI 96766


Position Summary: The Director of Human Resources directs and ensures the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function at the property level to include but not limited to staffing/recruitment, benefit administration, performance management, leave management/administration, employee recognition, training/training coordination, safety, community relations, compliance with statutory requirements and the execution of employee relation activities. Provides department managers with the personnel, guidance, and support necessary to achieve their guest service and business objectives with profitability objectives. Serves as a member of the property executive committee.


Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the overall management and administration of the Human Resources function at the property level to include but not limited to staffing/recruitment, benefit administration, performance management, leave management/administration, employee recognition, training/training coordination, safety, community relations, compliance with statutory requirements and the execution of employee relation activities. Ensure compliance with employment laws, government agencies, and company policies and procedures.

  • Works with the leadership team to continually improve operations.

  • Coordinates, supports and administers all other corporate, brand and hotel initiatives such as Brand Standards, Revinate, Employee Opinion Survey, Policy/Program rollouts, HR Reporting, etc.

  • Provides assistance, guidance and human resources support to the senior and mid-level Management staff and line team members. Listens to and interprets concerns and potential liabilities, and seeks solutions. Counsels managers on HR issues. Resolves associate concerns. Ensure managers are using coaching, counseling and discipline to address issues/concerns. Ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees through regular monitoring of the associate climate.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably in the hospitality industry

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook) and Internet applications

  • PHR, SPHR, SCP or CP SHRM certification preferred



  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal and State Employment Law including but not limited to EEO Title VII, ADA, ADAA, HFLL, FMLA, USERRA, OSHA, FLSA, Wage & Hour, ACA, NRLA, Work Comp, COBRA, and OSHA/HIOSH

  • Proficiency, knowledge, and experience in all HR processes: selection & employment, employee relations, benefits/leave administration, workers compensation, conflict resolution, and performance management.

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including group facilitation and presentation skills and demonstrated technical writing ability. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

  • Strong analytical skills. Strong ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations & making decisions

  • Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.



  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with strong prioritization skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
