Job DescriptionFounded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible quality health care.
The largest medical center on Kaua'i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology.
Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island's Primary Stroke Center.
The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds.
Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai'i.

The Sterile Services team plays a vital role in ensuring that medical and other needed equipment is readily available to units throughout our facilities.
This department cleans, prepared, assembles, sterilizes, distributes, and ensures the quality of all surgical instruments and medical equipment so that our physicians and staff can effectively carry out their work in caring for Hawai'i's people.
Under the direction of the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse, you will assist the perioperative care team in many aspects of patient care, including but not limited to, patient care assistance, care of environment, transportation of patients, supplies/equipment, specimens, and blood products to, from, and within the surgical unit.
You will also assist with surgical instrument processing; assisting with OR inventory management, and with clerical functions.
You need to have the ability to function effectively in a busy environment and to adapt to rapid changes in work assignments.
You will participate as an active team member to uphold the mission of the organization, to support administration, and to optimize department goals and objectives.
Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Federal Vaccination Mandate, all health care workers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
